Although the next big release for WordPress (V3.5) is not due out until Dec. 5th this year. The awesome team at WordPress has released an update to their popular default themes (Twenty Ten and Twenty Eleven were big hits).
The new Twenty Twelve theme is available for download right now from the Theme Directory on the WordPress website. The best part is that this new default theme is a fully responsive theme. This means it will scale properly to fit any device, be it desktop, phone or tablet. Responsive themes are a great move forward in accessibility across any device and I am really glad that WordPress is adapting to this new design trend.
There are some other new features including a unique front page template with a its own widgets, an optional display font, the ability to style post formats on both index and single views, and a single column page template without a side-bar.
While the new 2012 theme will not be available in installations and updates until December, you can get it now directly from the Wordpress.org website and try it out on your WordPress 3.4.2 installation.

I love it, anything would've been better than the twenty eleven theme.
